Wisconsin Rapids Senior Session // Cookie // Class of 2018

Sometimes you meet people and you know right away that you're vibrating on the same frequency. Their energy and your energy are just made of the same stuff. From the moment Cookie got to my house it was like that. We clicked on an artistic level and I knew that I could shoot exactly how I wanted to during this session. She's basically the cool little sister I always wanted.
We bonded over our mutual love of Karen O and ended up jamming out to Yeah Yeah Yeah's while we drove all over town. There was no awkward, getting warmed up phase to this shoot. I think we both had the same vision for this shoot so we already knew what we were doing.

I think we both really wanted this to be kind of an anti senior session. None of the stereotypical "senior poses". We wanted it to be grunge and fashion forward and editorial in nature. I'm pretty positive we nailed it.

For years I've have this vision of shooting inside a greenhouse and I've had my eye on one overgrown floral shop in particular. We were shooting in the parking lot when Cookie looked at me very seriously and said "I'm going in. You can follow me or not." and immediately hopped over the wall. And that's the greatest part about photographing seniors. They're fearless and it's always a collaboration. I'm really glad we risked the trespassing fine because this 100 year old greenhouse was recently demolished. Obviously I'm heartbroken. And I have nothing else to say on the subject at this time.

Someone please just use this set for some sort of advertising. I promise you'll sell out of whatever it is you're selling.

Cookie- You already know I think you're coolest. You've got the most unique taste in music and fashion, a wicked sense of humor, and a wonderful understanding of art. I can't wait to hear all about your adventures next year.
